Heating Up Mafia Town is Act 6 of the first Chapter: Mafia Town. Hat Kid must turn off all 6 lava faucets by hitting the lever 3 times with her umbrella and use the cannon to reach the top to collect the Time Piece. It contains multiple parkour sections.
The Level[]
When the player starts the level, they will immediately talk to the Goofy Mafia member where he claims that he saw Mustache Girl turn on all the faucets, pouring lava all over Mafia Town. in order for Hat Kid to complete the act, she needs to turn off all faucets.
After she turns off all faucets, she will need to go into the cannon that launches her to Mafia HQ, the Goofy Mafia and other cheering Mafia Goons will congratulate Hat Kid in her success, and then will give her a Time Piece.

"Heating Up Mafia Town" takes place in Mafia Town, which is a wide open location with many items to collect. Diary Entry[]
After each mission Hat Kid will write about it in her diary, which can be found in her room under the swimming pool of pillows. The diary will only read the entry for the last act that was completed.
"It’s… so.. HOT! Something seriously wrong has happened to the island; it looks like a huge Volcano went off!
"The Mafia guys are too big and tough to admit it, but the heat is definitely getting to them. Mafia guys get way smelly when they sweat… well, way smellier."
Unused Content[]
In the Prototype and Alpha stages of development, this Act was named "Mafia on Fire". It initially began with the cut character Thor informing Hat Kid about the situation before the Goofy Mafia was created. Said situation revolved around the Mafia no longer being able to throw "stuff" into the water which cooled down the mountain, Thor believes that may have caused the lava but this is not confirmed nor denied. The game play of the original act relies on the Pogo ability which allowed Hat Kid to preform a ground pound. Using the pogo she would seal several lava geysers, a precursor to the faucets in the final act. This version persisted until late 2015.
Upon completing the act the timepiece would spawn on the platform which the act begins on, rather than the Mafia HQ platform in the final. This difference persisted late into development long past the initial version of the act, being present in the 1.0 version of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 1 versions of the game.
Trivia[]
- Due to the lava found all across Mafia Town, the act can be completed without jumping through the use of damage boosts.
