I'm pretty sure in earlier versions of the game, Vanessa, Snatcher and Moon Jumper were all fighting to control subcon forest, but Moon Jumper was taken out and Snatcher became the main antagonist, Though I don't know if Vanessa's role got shrunk in the process or not
